Seven years ago, VR specialist Cyberith released its first game engine, the Mumble. It gave designers the power to build a game using the Unity Web Player and incorporate them into websites. The first game built using it was BeatRace, a three-minute song-playing game that had players in synchronized control of multiple virtual drummers.
Next, the company released its own game distribution service, the BeatRoute. Then, in April 2010, Cyberith released the Unity 2.0 game engine and Mumble 2.0, which allowed artists to build not just simple games but entire ecosystems of games.
